Netflix Opens up a New Central and Eastern Europe Hub in Poland, How Can This Transform Future Netflix Projects and Regional Content?
Netflix is opening a brand new office in Warsaw, which will eventually become the regional hub for Central and Eastern Europe. The hub will operate the places like Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, and Ukraine.
For several years, Netflix had been active in Poland, but not so much in other places. It’s high time we as an audience explore the content of Central and Eastern Europe. So, to highlight their culture, films, and shows, the streaming giant set up a hub for a smooth flow of content.
Polish languages television shows from local creators have been very popular and dominant on Netflix. The shows include The Woods, Rojst ’97, and Sexify, and films including Operation Hyacinth, Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight, and How I Fell in Love With a Gangster. Even The Witcher, one of the most popular fantasy shows, starring Henry Cavill, is inspired by the Polish writer, Andrzej Sapkowski.

Netflix opens a new regional hub in Warsaw, Poland
In a conversation with Larry Tanz, Netflix EMEA’s vice president of the original series explains that Warsaw carries a great potential for creativity from the local industry. So, Warsaw will be a great place to base the business across Central and Eastern Europe. He also added, “The Netflix office in Warsaw is a natural next step for us and will help build long-term cooperation in the region as well as deepen existing ties, creating new opportunities for content creators and producers.”

Since 2016, Netflix has begun its services in Poland. And has influenced a lot of local creators to be part of the streamer. According to the company’s own figures, they have invested over 490 million PLN ($115 million) in Polish originals. They claim to have created some 2,600 jobs in the region. Some of the Netflix international originals, like Extraction 2 and Shadow and Bone, were filmed in Central and Eastern Europe.
The streaming giant completed another milestone and spread its wings all over the world. This hub will bring them closer to their creative partners. Other Netflix offices located in Europe are London, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Berlin, Madrid, Istanbul, Stockholm, and Warsaw.
