Carmen and Juni Cortez, a pair of siblings who find out their parents are agents and join them in saving the world, won the hearts of many with their story. Now Netflix has revived this action-comedy franchise. In this exclusive first look, Zachary Levi and Gina Rodriguez pair with a new cast to tackle a brand-new threat to humanity. But will it work with fans?
Fans have loved and adored the Spy Kids series. For many, it holds significant nostalgic value while a cult classic for others. A childhood love for many, fans are having mixed reactions to the news. And it is not something Netflix would like to hear as they gear up for its September release date.

Following the release of the first look, we get a glimpse of the new cast. <a href="https://people.com/spy-kids-armageddon-reboot-first-look-photos-release-date-robert-rodriguez-exclusive-7566637" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The exclusives as shared by PEOPLE</a> reveals a stunned Zachary Levi and Gina Rodriguez. It also gives us our first look at the next actual spy kids &#8211; Everly Carganilla and Connor Esterson. Although the photos do not reveal anything about the plot, people are unsure as to how they should feel.
Many fans have gone out to point out that the original chapters have a special place in their hearts. The charisma, story, and conclusion that was served remain of utmost significance. An attempt made to reboot the franchise in 2011 ended up disastrously. Spy Kids: All the Time in the World, a follow-up to the original trilogy, received criticism from fans all over.

Netflix is now headed to very testing waters. A slew of revival projects of timeless classics is now on its back. Thus, respecting fan sentiments is its foremost goal. Moreover, given the apprehension surrounding people about Netflix &#8216;ruining&#8217; their childhood favorite, the streamer needs to be very careful. However, with a charming cast and director Robert Rodriguez, only time will tell how this movie fares.
