As the third season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is reaching near its release date, fans worldwide are psyched. The show has given the world of anime some of the most unforgettable iconic characters. Be it Tanjiro Kamado’s earrings or Inosuke Hashibira’s mask, the characters of the show have unique possessions and abilities that made the fans fall in love with them.

One such character from the show is Tengen Uzui, who is one of the major supporting characters in the show. More importantly, he is well-known for his Nichirin Sword, which a well-known YouTuber brought to life about three weeks ago. Ilya Alekseye is a blacksmith and famous YouTuber, who recently made a successful attempt in creating Uzui’s sword.

The sword of Tengen has quite a resemblance to the conventional Japanese knife used in households, especially the blades. While having two huge blades joined by a chain, they remind us plenty of belonging to a mystical character. The technique used by Alekseyev to create the Nichiren sword is called the San Mai building technique. He utilizes 200-year-old wrought iron barn door hinges to create it.

The hand guard (tsuba) has layered sepa and a raised copper border. It is said to be crafted in the Tachi style. The unique part of Alekseyev’s video is that he made the Tsuba’s tashi-like copper rim without having attempted this method before recording the video.

The result of all the effort that Alekseyev and his partner Matt Stagmer put in is a sword that greatly resembles the one used by Tengen Uzui in Demon Slayer. Uzui will probably love the sword just as much as we do.

Tengen Uzui: a retired Hashira from the Demon Slayer corps

Tengen Uzui is a sound Hashira and served as the former Sound Hashira and along with being a member of the Demon Slayer Corps. Currently, he is on a break from the corps and is spending a quiet life with his three beautiful wives. Being an extremely strong and skillful fighter, he is the second-strongest Hashira in the present generation and the quickest runner of all the Hashira.

Uzui has performed great physical actions involving power and quickness. He was a better fighter than Gyutaro and Daki, two Higher Rank demons who had previously engaged in combat with and killed countless Hashira.

We will probably see Uzui again in the third season of the show, set to premiere in April this year. However, makers are yet to announce a date.
