Katherine ‘Kitty’ Song Covey is returning for another whirlwind of swoon-worthy romance, friendship, and a myriad of new opportunities in the upcoming season of XO, Kitty. The previous season ended on a much unexpected dramatic cliffhanger. Understandably, the fandom of the romantic comedy has been waiting a long time to see what the creators have planned for the beloved To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before character and her friends at KISS.

As the show gears up for Season 3 with fresh twists and turns, here is what Anna Cathcart has to say about her character, Kitty. 

Anna Cathcart recently sat for a conversation with PEOPLE and spoke about her character, Kitty, and what fans can expect from her in the upcoming season. Although she did not reveal much, the actress hinted that a big surprise awaits fans, and that is sure to make their long and painful wait worthwhile.

“So very excited and I think they're going to be surprised, but also super happy. So I can't wait,” she said, throwing in a few logs at the fire. 

“[Kitty’s] making some big decisions in her life and it's senior year, all of that, so I'm very excited for them to see," the 22-year-old actress exclaimed. 

Season 2 showrunner Jessica O’Toole also shared the same enthusiasm while speaking about the upcoming season. In the previous season, Cathcart’s character received a scholarship to the Korean Independent School of Seoul, ensuring her return to the school in the South Korean capital for her senior year. As for the romance in her life, the finale showed Kitty asking Min Ho if she could join him on tour, leaving fans to imagine what his response might have been.

What happens between them, however, remains a mystery until the new season drops this April 2. Till then, fans can take some hint from Cathcart’s advice for Kitty ahead of season 3.

Anna Cathcart, in the same interview with PEOPLE, spoke about one piece of advice she would give her character ahead of Season 3. She praised Kitty’s excitement and chaotic energy but suggested that she might need to calm down a bit in the upcoming season of XO, Kitty.

“She just needs to calm down a little bit. I feel like Kitty has the most chaos [sic] of anyone I know, and that’s what we love about her,” the actress said. 

What this advice could possibly mean is for the fandom to decipher, and the speculations will keep flowing until it is ultimately revealed in the upcoming season. After all, XO, Kitty has been pretty good when it comes to surprises, considering its previous twists involving Dae or Kitty’s love life.
