There has been a lot of criticism and trolling for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle because of the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award. The royal couple will be receiving the illustrious award at a gala on December 06 for standing up against racism in the royal family. The royal experts and crown loyalists have placed the Duke and Duchess under major scrutiny for accepting the award by shaming the House of Windsor.

However, the recent happenings at Buckingham Palace do not echo the same sentiments as the royal servants. Late monarch Queen Elizabeth II’s lady-in-waiting and Prince William’s godmother Lady Susan Hussey has once again sparked the racism debate in the royal household. Hussey’s sudden resignation from the Palace duties indicates that Meghan Markle might be right about her poor treatment in the Palace.

The connection between Meghan Markle and Lady Susan Hussey’s resignation 

A couple of days back, Queen Consort Camilla hosted an event in the Palace to discuss the violence against women. However, one of the guests, Ngozi Fulani, did not enjoy a pleasant experience at the reception. Lady Susan Hussey subjected her to racist remarks. The CEO took to her official Twitter handle to describe how Lady SH questioned her racial heritage.

Hussey could not digest the fact that Ngozi Fulani was a United Kingdom citizen and kept questioning her to know regarding her race and origin. The entire episode left the CEO extremely uncomfortable and she could not confide in the Queen Consort or any other official member. 

Following her revelations on Twitter, Lady Susan Hussey handed her resignation from royal duties. Prince William’s godmother also apologized for her remarks while Buckingham Palace released an official statement to condemn the incident. 

“We take this incident extremely seriously and have investigated immediately to establish the full details. In this instance, unacceptable and deeply regrettable comments have been made,” the statement by the House of Windsor read as mentioned by The News. 

The fiasco has successfully planted doubt in the minds of people if there is any truth to the allegations by Meghan Markle. Last year, Markle spoke about being subjected to uncomfortable comments for being a woman of color during her time as a working royal member.
