Netflix's 'One Piece' shatters the streaming giant's own records set by its 'Stranger Things' and 'Wednesday' as it rises up in popularity.

With a 94% Rotten Tomatoes Score, Netflix’s ‘One Piece’ Becomes a Massive Hit Surpassing ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘Wednesday’ Records

Netflix has finally got it right! After desperate failed attempts at a perfect
live adaptation of an anime or manga, One Piece has finally cracked the ice.
After a long history of disappointing fans with inaccurate adaptations, the show
currently sits with a 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. This indeed is a
testament to Netflix’s capabilities. Additionally, the positive feedback from
audiences is also a sign that Netflix has finally got things right.

As of now, One Piece is basking on a record high. Not only this, the show has
managed to break the ceiling set by Netflix’s biggest hits such as Stranger
Things.

ONE PIECE SAILS BY STRANGER THINGS AND WEDNESDAY TO SET NETFLIX RECORD

One Piece has managed to achieve remarkable achievements for Netflix. The show
follows the saga of Straw Hat Pirates as they embark on an unchartered
adventure, has set its tone right. Within the first 24 hours of its launch, the
show became the most-viewed Netflix original series in India, Australia, Japan,
the US, and the UK. It has dethroned Stranger Things and Wednesday by becoming
the number-one show across 84 countries.

Stranger Things [https://netflixjunkie.com/tag/stranger-things/] had earlier set
a record for holding the numero uno position in 83 countries and was later
surpassed by Wednesday. Additionally, One Piece has earned the trust of viewers
and fans with it being streamed as the largest online watch party on YouTube.
The show, based on the popular manga of the same name by Eiichiro Oda, is raking
up global charts. Even though it was released only a few days ago, more records
and highlights are reasonably expected.

One might wonder how One Piece has cracked the code of what it takes to make a
successful live-action adaptation. The reason is simple- loyalty.

NETFLIX AMENDS ITS WRONGS AS ITS MOST AMBITIOUS LIVE-ACTION ADAPTATION BECOMES
ONE OF ITS BIGGEST YET

The streaming giant’s decision to adapt One Piece from a shonen manga into a
live-action was one of its most daunting decisions ever. Many have notoriously
blamed Netflix for veering off the source material. However, in order to get
things right, Netflix ran an extra mile. In order to maintain the accuracy of
the show, the original creator, Eiichiro Oda himself, was brought on board as an
executive producer.

Thus, Oda ensured that the entire show followed his vision and took on the
original matter with grace. Additionally, the show executed the take and focus
on each character’s abilities and backdrop with finesse. Finally, the show’s
decision to include plot lines from the original source while making it fit for
a live-action attracted both new and old fans of the manga. All in all, One
Piece serves as a fun and refreshing take on a new world and ushers in a new
sense of confidence in Netflix.
