A celebration for which the New Yorkers were waiting for more than five decades is finally about to take place, thanks to a historic win by the New York Knicks. The team that last laid its hands on the NBA title in 1973 has once again bested every other team in the tournament to claim the championship after a long wait. To commemorate this coveted sporting victory, New York City has decided to throw a ticker-tape parade through the city's Financial District route known as the Canyon of Heroes.
But many Knicks fans would not be able to join the parade. And they might be wondering where they can catch the live broadcast of the event, naturally turning to the usual hero in these matters as of late: Netflix.

The Knicks Parade will, unfortunately, not be streamed on Netflix. Numerous local networks, including ABC7 New York, NBC 4 New York, CBS News New York, Fox 5 New York, and MSG Network, will broadcast the Knicks parade. However, live TV streamers like DirecTV, Sling TV, and Hulu + Live TV are the greatest options for cable-cutters to watch the parade live online. There are also Peacock, Disney+, and NYC.gov as options.
However, local affiliates are frequently limited to specific markets, so in order to view the stream if you are not in New York, you should register for a VPN. Beginning at 10 a.m. ET in the vicinity of Battery Park, the celebration will go north along Broadway through the renowned Canyon of Heroes before concluding at City Hall, where a ceremony honoring the team will take place. Around 1 p.m. ET, Alicia Keys will sing 'Empire State of Mind' to wrap up the event.
The parade is a historic event for the city and the franchise. This year's victory ends one of the longest title droughts in New York sports, since the Knicks have not won a championship since 1973. With a 45-point performance that included a thrilling comeback triumph in the fourth quarter, Jalen Brunson led the championship-clinching victory and was named Finals MVP.
Besides the parade, the New York Knicks’ victory might also get a documentary treatment by a very famous filmmaker and Knicks fan.
Ben Stiller working on a Knicks documentary
Famous actor and director Ben Stiller, known for Tropic Thunder and Zoolander, is reportedly making a documentary on the New York Knicks’ 2026 NBA campaign. The actor has confirmed the news recently, but Stiller seems to have been archiving footage for the entire season, and the finals were no different.

The parade for the Knicks and the documentary all seem to be honoring the legacy that will be cast by their victory this year after 53 years. While the heroes of 1973 might not have given a grand thank-you gesture from the City at that point in time, this time, it seems to be different.
