Hulk Hogan: Real American landed on Netflix and immediately had people talking. The four-part docuseries captured the wrestling legend's most personal confessions, from fentanyl addiction to his lowest mental health moments. His ex-wife, Linda Hogan, and son Nick  Hogan both appeared on camera. However, Brooke Hogan, his daughter and perhaps the person who knew him best, was nowhere to be found, and she has now explained exactly why.

While the world watched Hulk Hogan bare his soul on Netflix, the one person who knew all his secrets chose to stay silent, until now.

Brooke Hogan, the daughter who called herself a daddy's girl, drew a hard line when it came to Hulk Hogan: Real American. She stayed away because she believed the documentary was never going to tell the full story. She had not spoken to her father for two years before his death in July 2025, and she deeply distrusted the people surrounding him who chose to join the production. She also felt it was his last real chance to be truly honest, and he did not take it.

"It is missing 98% of real life. It was a beautiful showcase piece on my dad's life, but it did not talk nearly about the underbelly of the beast," she said in an interview with Extra TV.

She also questioned, "Why come out of hiding and talk about something that I am just going to get raked over the coals for anyway?" emphasizing that speaking out felt like a losing situation for her, regardless.

Hulk Hogan: Real American was released on Netflix on April 22, 2026, and is the final on-screen interview Hulk ever gave before his death in July 2025. The docuseries covers his painkiller use and his darkest personal moments, including admitting to sitting with a gun in his mouth. Beyond the documentary, Brooke had also removed herself from her father's will years prior, wanting no part in the legal battles and family drama she knew would follow when money got involved.

Netflix and WWE Team Up for Hulk Hogan Docuseries Featuring Unreleased Interviews: Check Release Date and Time

While Brooke Hogan kept her distance from the entire production, some of the biggest names in the world had no hesitation showing up for Hulk Hogan on screen.

Donald Trump appeared in Hulk Hogan: Real American

While Brooke Hogan stayed away, President Donald Trump showed up in a big way. The documentary features Trump speaking from the White House, describing Hulk Hogan as a loyal person and a good man, and even playing a voicemail Trump left after Hulk's appearance at the 2024 Republican National Convention, where Trump praised him for doing something nobody else could have done. Trump is framed in the series as the one person who stayed firmly in Hulk's corner when much of the world had moved on.

Trump's presence in the documentary, spanning from hosting WrestleMania at Trump Plaza in the 1980s to a White House interview, painted a picture of decades-long loyalty. That loyalty stood in sharp contrast to where things ended between Hulk and his own daughter. Brooke never received a genuine apology from her father, and the forgiveness she found came purely from her love for him. Ultimately, the daughter who loved him most was the one face missing from his final chapter.
