Netflix's live-action whirlwind has stirred Toph Beifong's boulder-like grit into Miya Cech, and now all that is left is to get familiar with the face of the to-be opal-eyed earthbending master. 

To match Toph's teeth-grindingly masterful control over the floor beneath, Miya Cech is probably someone who has the reins to Toph instead. 

It is a known fact that Miya Cech has channeled her sassy genius for the upcoming saga continuation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Privy to her reveal of having been a lifelong superfan who devoured the series ten times growing up, Cech has been honing her craft just as religiously as Toph had learned bending from the badgermoles.

Cech made herself familiar with the screens with roles in numbers like Beef, Young Rock, The Santa Clauses, as well as the movie You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah. But at the same time, the actress has made her understanding of Toph's uniqueness as well, giving the spectators a promise that the prodigal character has been cast into safe arms. 

With the actress having hurdled past the layered screening for a foolproof selection for the role, the final stunt-check Zoom call had caught her by confusion, and eventually, surprise.

"I think I just started crying," she said, expressing her shock in an interview with Netflix Tudum in September 2024. From being a Rim of the World survivor to Beef breakout, Cech's edge has seemed to fit Toph like a glove so far.​
