Excitement is soaring as Netflix has dropped the teaser for Season 2 of the fan-favorite anime One Piece. Iñaki Godoy returns as Monkey D. Luffy, alongside the rest of the Straw Hats, who will be joined by both new and familiar faces in the upcoming season. And one of the most anticipated new characters is Miss All Sunday, who will later be known as Nico Robin, played by Lera Abova.

Lera Abova has been cast to play Nico Robin, one of Eiichiro Oda’s most complex characters, in the live-action adaptation of One Piece. She began her career as a model in the fashion world before transitioning into film and television. Born in Russia and raised across several countries, she has built an international career, an experience that may help her connect with a global audience.

Abova gained recognition for playing the role of Maude in the 2019 thriller Anna, and later appeared as Thea, also known as DJ Das Boot, in the 2022 musical comedy series Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin.

Playing Nico Robin, a character who is introduced as an antagonist before eventually becoming a Straw Hat pirate, will be a demanding challenge. However, Abova’s versatility and commanding screen presence could give her an edge in bringing the character to life.

Beyond Abova’s casting, there is also growing anticipation surrounding other recent additions to the series, including the Never Have I Ever actor joining the cast as Nefertari Cobra.

With One Piece Season 2 set to arrive on March 10 this year, the casting has been finalized with Sendhil Ramamurthy joining the cast to play the role of the King of Alabasta and head of the Nefertari royal family. Sendhil Ramamurthy is best known for his roles in Never Have I Ever, Covert Affairs, Heroes, and many more movies. 

So, the expectations are high to watch Ramamurthy turn into Nefertari Cobra, who is the 12th ruler of the Alabasta Kingdom and the father of Princess Vivi. 

Charithra Chandran will portray the character of Vivi as the Straw Hat crew sails into new challenges. These two will be joined by Brendan Murray, Camrus Johnson, Jazzara Jaslyn, Daniel Lasker, and more for the latest season. With two months left for Season 2, fans are eager to see how Lera Abova, Sendhil Ramamurthy, and other actors bring these characters to life.
