Falka, also referred to as “Bloody Falka”, was a princess of Redania, who, much like Ciri, had a tumultuous family history. She was the first-born daughter of King Vridank of Redania and Beatrix of Kovir. The evil sorceress started a rebellion to kill her own family members and conquer kingdoms. Despite successfully capturing Redania, Falka lost eventually, and the overarching antagonists was burned at the stake. As per Lore, Falka, the persuasive rebel, had the ability to sway large groups with her aggressive bloodlust and savagery.

She also boasts incredible combat skills and strength, which were instrumental in her battles against adversaries. Apart from these qualities, Falka was stunningly beautiful. And she leveraged her charm as a tool to gain the trust of men valuable to her cause. The lore also suggests that Falka swore that one of her children would seek revenge on her behalf before she took her last breath. This forges a connection between her and Ciri, played by Freya Allan.

The Witcher novels suggest that there are primarily two prophecies connecting to Falka. One says that a descendant of Falka will be the destructor of the world. Meanwhile, the other says that a descendant of elf sorceress Lara Dorren will be the savior. This is where the confusion arises, as Ciri could be the descendant of either of the sorceresses. Especially since at one point, the descendants of both characters grew up as siblings in a prison cell.

One thing is for sure, however, that Ciri is anything but a mortal mage, considering the elemental and ancient abilities. Ciri also becomes a murderer towards the end, which hints at her possibility of inheriting a cruel disposition akin to Falka. However, while talking to Tudum, Freya Allan shared that she feels Ciri called herself ‘Falka’ only because she felt she was no different from the evil sorceress after killing someone. The truth behind these theories can only come to light by the next installment of the Lauren Hissrich show.
