Hollywood has always been an enlarged platform for many Australian actors who have gone on to gain international recognition after working there. Eric Bana is one such actor who made it big on the screen after playing Bruce Banner in 2003’s Hulk. Though the actor took a brief break focusing on race cars after many years since his Hollywood breakthrough, he is back in action in the last few years and has delivered some memorable performances. And now he is ready for the taste of the streaming world with Netflix’s Untamed.

Starring as well as producing the show, Eric Bana brings the search for justice in this mini-series titled Untamed.

A character-driven mystery thriller, Untamed will see Eric Bana as Kyle Turner, a special agent in an elite branch of the National Parks Service. And starring with him is the star cast filled with impressive credits. Jurassic Park fame Sam Neill will be playing Paul Souter, the chief park ranger in Yosemite for half his life.

Playing Turner’s ex-wife, Jill Bodwin, is Rosemarie DeWitt, credited for La La Land and The Staircase. Bodwin is a former teacher and park counsellor who maintains a strong bond with Turner. The show also stars Lily Santiago as Naya Vasquez and Wilson Bethel as Shane Maguire.

The lives of these characters are tangled with each other, orbiting around the centre of Yosemite National Park and a brutal crime that takes place there.

In this six-episode drama of Untamed, Kyle Turner, who is tasked with enforcing human law in nature’s vast wilderness, has his life changed after a devastating death takes place at his workplace. The event sent Turner on a collision course with the dark secrets within the park, and in his life, too. According to the creator, Mark L. Smith, the series has made an attempt to highlight the dangers of Yosemite.

Other than bringing this engaging script to life by his acting, Eric Bana is also making money moves with Untamed as an executive producer. Smith, who is also producing, has stripped all the modern tools that people can use and brought it “down to the character and what they can find within themselves," he told Tudum. 

Netflix subscribers and Eric Bana fans have to wait a tad bit longer as his latest series is knocking on the screens on July 17. While fans wait for this special series, they can entertain themselves with other new series that have just arrived on the platform.

As the mystery series feeds the hype with glimpses and on-set shots, the suspense around the Untamed is only heating up.
