What Is Louis Theroux’s Documentary on Netflix All About? Release Date, Synopsis, and All You Need
There is a moment in Weird Weekends where Louis Theroux stands awkwardly among American survivalists, calmly asking polite questions while the room fills with very serious talk about the end of the world.
It is classic Theroux: unflappable, quietly curious, and somehow both out of place and completely in control. That signature style has defined his documentaries for decades, pulling viewers into strange and often unsettling real-life worlds.
And now, the master of uncomfortable truths is gearing up for another deep dive, because Louis Theroux is coming to Netflix very soon.

When is Louis coming to Netflix?
Louis Theroux heads to Netflix with his debut full-length documentary made just for the platform, titled Louis Theroux: Inside The Manosphere. The streamer has locked in a worldwide release date of Wednesday, March 11, 2026. This marks his first project directly for Netflix, after years of sticking with the BBC since Weird Weekends launched back in the late 1990s.
That said, Netflix has streamed several titles from Mindhouse Productions, the company he helped start, like Tell Them You Love Me from 2024 and Can I Tell You A Secret?, which Netflix branded as an original later that year. Mindhouse has also teamed up with outlets such as CNN, Sky, Prime Video, BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and Dave for other projects.
Now for those wondering what Louis Theroux is up to this time around? Let us find out!
What will the Docu-Movie be about?
Under the direction of Adrian Choa, the documentary trails Louis Theroux as he jets to places like Miami, New York, and Marbella to dive headfirst into the realm of intense online influencers and creators reshaping ideas of modern manhood. He breaks down concepts such as "red-pilling," looks at how these personalities shape young men's beliefs around the globe, and chats with the women who stand by these bold opinions.
In a fresh chat with Deadline, which first shared the news today, Theroux explained that this film picks up threads from Netflix's popular limited series Adolescence. He stressed it is "nothing like Adolescence," but it touches on the kind of content that the boy in Adolescence might have tuned into. We cannot vouch for what he may have tuned into, but we can certainly disclose the true story behind Adolescence.
The star power feels huge too, with Louis Theroux crossing paths with a slew of influencers.
A guest list for the ages
In Inside The Manosphere, Louis Theroux will face off with some of the internet’s most talked-about and divisive voices. The lineup includes Harrison Sullivan, better known as HS Tikky Tokky, Myron Gaines or Amrou Fudl from the Fresh and Fit Podcast, Nicolas Kenn De Balinthazy, who goes by Sneako, Justin Waller, and Ed Matthews.

The film even ties back to Theroux's earlier BBC work in Forbidden America, which delved into how the internet fuels shifts in American culture, spotlighting figures linked to the far right's growth, like his sit-down with Nick Fuentes. This documentary promises that signature Theroux blend of empathy and sharp insight, peeling back layers on a timely topic.
