British American documentarian Louis Theroux is no stranger to making documentaries that focus on debatable topics, such as The Most Hated Family in America. In Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere, the documentarian closely examines and interviews social media influencers and podcasters who promote their arguably extreme views related to masculinity, gender roles, and relationships. And since its release on March 11, 2026, some of the clips featuring his conversation with these influencers are gaining attention on social media.
While some have criticized the documentary for giving a larger platform to these influencers, others called it fascinating and disturbing at the same time. Filmed across Miami, New York City, and Marbella, the project shows documentarian Louis Theroux in conversation with Nicolas Kenn De Balinthazy, also known as Sneako. Other figures featured in the documentary include British influencer Harrison Sullivan (HS Tikky Tokky) and the co-host of the Fresh & Fit podcast, Amrou Fudl (Myron Gaines).
While Theroux understands that such subjects may lead to extreme online debates, he has spoken about how he carefully navigates these sensitivities while filming these projects.
Louis Theroux believes in showing the truth
In an interview with Tudum, Louis Theroux was asked about the challenge of giving debatable figures a platform without amplifying harmful ideas. He explained that he aims to understand his subjects through honest conversations. Theroux added that while he listens, he also questions and challenges viewpoints that seem illogical or potentially dangerous.
“I am trying to tell the truth, and I will confront them appropriately,” he said.
He further added, “I’m just trying to understand them, get my questions answered, and then challenge and push back on the parts that don’t make sense to me or strike me as dangerous.”
