Jamie Childs’ upcoming Netflix adventure, already gaining significant traction online, remains curiously untitled. Now officially in production, the series is notably headlined by Oppenheimer and Trap star Josh Hartnett. The supporting cast includes Speak No Evil actress Mackenzie Davis, Stranger Things' Charlie Heaton, Away from Everywhere’s Willow Kean, Lockwood & Co. star Ruby Stokes, Halloween Ends actor Rohan Campbell, and Chucky’s Kaleb Horn.

The gig is being created by Canadian writer Jesse McKeown, best known for The Umbrella Academy, The Romeo Section, and Letterkenny.

The project, as mentioned above, sees Josh Hartnett leading the charge as he plays a fisherman and the savior of his village on the coast of Newfoundland. According to Netflix Canada content directors cited by Tudum, Jamie Childs’ untitled project delivers thrills and gore with the presence of a sea monster, while also exploring family drama elements, as both immediate kin and the extended community form the heart of the story.

The village, dependent on fishing for its livelihood, faces threats not only from the monstrous force in the water but also from the encroaching modern world that challenges their way of life and sole source of income. When does the series in discussion come out, though?

There is no official word as to when the series will expand Netflix’s treasure trove of thrillers. However, it is indeed known that there will be a total of six episodes in the offering. While ancillary details remain submerged for now, the first look from the production, arriving a little while ago, suggests a release is not too far off. Still waters sometimes stay silent for long, after all.
