But just when you thought Nevermore Academy had reached its peak level of spooky eccentricity, things are about to get weirder.

Season two is creeping closer and the Addams Family tree is sprouting some deliciously bizarre new branches.

Season 2 of Wednesday is digging up more family secrets with the introduction of Grandmama Hester Frump, played by the effortlessly regal Joanna Lumley. A fabulously wealthy funeral mogul with an emotional temperature just above freezing, Hester runs Frump Mortuaries, one of the nation’s most successful outcast-owned businesses. From her towering updo to her glacial stare, she brings a new level of eerie elegance to the Addams bloodline. Consider her equal parts diamond-studded menace and brutally honest matriarch.

“Wednesday and Hester get along great,” Alfred Gough confessed to Netflix Tudum, a sentence that alone could earn therapy bills. “Other than Fester, her Grandmama is probably Wednesday's favorite person.” Of course she is. It takes a certain kind of matriarch to bond over death, sarcasm, and shared disdain for warmth. This so-called "delicious triangle" sounds less like family drama and more like a séance with sarcasm.

New faces are not limited to the Addams household, Nevermore Academy is set to get a few curious newcomers of its own.

The gates of Nevermore Academy are creaking open for a whole new wave of eccentric educators. Leading the pack is Principal Dort, an outcast supremacist who makes Larissa Weems look like a warm hug in a pastel suit. Determined to rid Nevermore of normie influence, Dort is less “headmaster” and more “cult leader with tenure.” Alongside him is Isadora, the mysteriously intense new head of music, whose piercing gaze could tune a cello. Her mentorship of Wednesday Addams and Enid Sinclair promises drama with a side of orchestral dread.

Then comes Professor Orloff, a man who may have been teaching at Nevermore since the invention of chalk. With a personality as soft as a guillotine, Orloff makes it his mission to sniff out trouble and finds a prime candidate in Pugsley Addams. While fans wait impatiently for Wednesday Season 2, Netflix has resurrected another Jenna Ortega gem, a haunting high school drama with none of the werewolves, but all of the angst.
