SUMMARY OF THE FILM

The plot of 1917 centers on two fictitious British lance corporals who are
entrusted with preventing a battalion of 1,600 soldiers from entering a German
trap. One of the guys, Blake, has a personal interest in the assignment since
one of the troops targeted by the German trap is his elder brother’s.

While Schofield and Blake are made-up characters, Mendes based his war drama on
actual events. The film shows the brutal realities of trench fighting, the
