Messages, videos, and other digital traces found on Montilla’s social media accounts, which continued to be shared even after her disappearance, became crucial pieces as to what may have happened to the woman. A clip from a Netflix documentary, one in which Esther Estepa’s sister recalled receiving an odd message that she did not believe to be from her sister, has already sharply set the tone around the documentary.

Produced by iZen Documentaries, The TikTok Killer will be available to stream on Netflix on March 6, 2026. The two-episode Spanish documentary is directed by Héctor Muniente. Arantza Sánchez, César Martí, and Santi Aguado, from iZen, NewCo, and CAPA respectively, act as executive producers of the upcoming number.
