Back in 2022, Rob Zombie brought back one of the most iconic horror comedy sitcoms from the 60s in a never-seen-before format. The reboot of the iconic TV series, The Munsters, made its way to Netflix nearly a year ago, back in September of 2022. Directed by Rob Zombie, the film revolves around the earlier events of the sitcom, delivering a back story to the original series. It takes the fans through a journey of characters from Transylvania to the American suburbs.
In addition to a gripping storyline, Zombie also gathered an incredible ensemble in the 2022 movie. The horror comedy remake features Sheri Moon Zombie, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Daniel Roebuck, and Richard Brake. Moreover, Doctor Who star Sylvester McCoy and popular horror film actress Cassandra Peterson also star in the film.
The film begins with a mad scientist, Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang, who, along with his assistant Floop, starts robbing graves to collect body parts for a wild experiment. While the apocalyptic and zombie genre is growing at an impressive rate, with stars like Brad Pitt dabbling in it, The Munsters on Netflix did not impress the fans as much.

Following its release back in September 2022, The Munsters failed to leave much of an impact on the audience like the director intended. Shortly after the project graced Netflix, its performance did not impress the fans of the director nor the admirers of the original show.
Even though Rob Zombie left no stones unturned to bring back the classic story with a touch of modernization, The Munsters was a blunder. The horror comedy remake only garnered a 36% audience score and 53% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Moreover, the film’s box office collection was not as impressive either.
