Four members of a family - a father, a mother, and their two children - are trapped in their own house, running out of resources, but the most ominous detail of them all is that they do not even know who or rather what trapped them. This makes for an edge-of-the-seat survival thriller, and throw in the sci-fi element in the mix, and it goes swinging for the fences. Ever since Netflix dropped the trailer for The Last House, all anyone can talk about is the gripping story, the high-stakes, the sci-fi beat, and the amazing cast.

One thing that impressed the viewers, other than the premise, was the amazing acting performances by the cast, and here is everything you might want to know about them.  

Greta Lee: Playing one of the main leads, Lee's most recent feature film credits include A House of Dynamite, Tron: Ares, and Past Lives. She is well-known for the television shows Russian Doll and The Morning Show, the latter of which got her an Emmy nomination. Her upcoming gigs include voice parts in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse and Toy Story 5.

Wagner Moura: Moura plays the other lead of the film, and he was previously seen in The Secret Agent, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award. Other prior credits include the television shows Narcos, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and Dope Thief, as well as the motion pictures Civil War and The Gray Man.

Noah Alexander Sosnowski: Sosnowski plays the elder son of Moura and Lee’s characters in the film and is famous for Section 8, On the Run, and To Will the Sunrise.

Riley Chung: Chung plays Moura and Lee’s youngest daughter. She has previously been a part of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Joyeux Noel, and Sunrise.  

Additional cast includes Emma Ho and Gabriel Barbosa in undisclosed roles. Emma Ho is famous for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, The Expanse, Titans, The Baker, and many more. Barbosa has previously featured in May December and will be seen in The Heist and Extraverting after The Last House.

Netflix Acquires 'Somewhere Out There' With Shawn Levy Attached to Direct Sci-Fi Film

Now that the cast details are out of the way, it is time to turn the gaze over to the creative team behind the Netflix sci-fi project.

Matthew Robinson, the co-writer of the 2020 post-apocalyptic adventure film Love and Monsters, wrote the screenplay, which is directed by Louis Leterrier, who previously helmed Fast X and Now You See Me. The movie is backed by Chernin Entertainment and 3 Arts Entertainment, and Leterrier also comes in as a producer along with Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Kori Adelson, and Oly Obst on the project. 

Damian Anderson, Thorsten Schumacher, Lars Sylvest, Cecile Gaget, and Thomas Benski are executive producers. The Last House is scheduled for an August 7 release on Netflix. The streamer has already dropped an exciting new trailer and some key details, along with photos of the cast of the film.
