‘The Hunting Party’ Starring Melissa Roxburgh Lands on Netflix Amid Season 2 Run on NBC

For years, Netflix focused mainly on original shows, but it has recently shifted toward licensing popular series from other networks. As competition grows from platforms like Disney+, Prime Video, and Max, Netflix is betting on familiar titles with built-in audiences. In 2026, the streamer has plans in store to significantly expand its lineup of licensed content.

One of the latest examples of that strategy is The Hunting Party, a relatively new crime drama that is now set to become part of Netflix’s growing licensed roster in 2026, and it could be a familiar formula for success.

As first reported by What’s on Netflix, NBC’s crime drama The Hunting Party, led by Melissa Roxburgh, is set to make its way to Netflix in the US while its second season is currently airing on the network. The series debuted in early 2025 and earned a swift renewal, with Season 2 launching on NBC on January 8. Up until now, the show has only been available to stream on Peacock, but Netflix will soon become its new streaming home.

What's On Netflix has confirmed that Season 1 of The Hunting Party (10 episodes) will drop on Netflix US on Sunday, February 15, 2026. However whether Season 2 is included in the streaming deal is not clear.

Melissa Roxburgh is no stranger to Netflix success. Before leading NBC’s latest crime procedural, the actress became a global favorite thanks to Manifest, the supernatural drama that found a second life on Netflix after being canceled by NBC. Originally premiering in 2018, Manifest surged in popularity when it landed on Netflix in 2022, spending weeks in the platform’s global Top 10 and becoming one of the most-streamed shows of the year.

With that track record, The Hunting Party arrives on Netflix with significant upside. But what is The Hunting Party about?

The Hunting Party: plot and cast

The Hunting Party follows a covert FBI task force assembled to track down some of the most dangerous serial k---rs in the country. These include criminals who have escaped from a secret, high-security facility designed to hold offenders deemed too volatile for the traditional justice system. Melissa Roxburgh stars as Rebecca “Bex” Henderson, a former profiler pulled back into the field to help stop the fugitives before they strike again.

The series also stars Nick Wechsler as veteran agent Oliver Odell, Patrick Sabongui as CIA liaison Jacob Hassani, and Josh McKenzie as intelligence specialist Shane Florence. Together, the ensemble blends classic procedural storytelling with serialized mystery and conspiracy-driven arcs, giving the show a tone that sits somewhere between Criminal Minds, The Blacklist, and Prison Break.

With Netflix now giving The Hunting Party a global streaming stage, the series could find a much larger audience than it ever did on linear television. If history repeats itself, Roxburgh may once again be leading one of Netflix’s most-watched licensed dramas.
