A feature-length continuation to the Frankelda's Book of Spooks series, this captivating dark fantasy horror musical, directed by Arturo and Roy Ambriz, delves into 19th-century Mexico via the ethereal journey of a young writer into her mind. I Am Frankelda, which is soon due on Netflix, is written, directed, and produced by the Ambriz Brothers. Irene Melis and Fernanda G. Manzur were DOPs, Beto Petiches was the animation director, while Ana Coronilla and Bruce Zick handled production design for the stop-motion film.
The film’s other important strength is its incredible story of the love between creator and creation.
The beautiful plot of I am Frankelda
Frankelda is a talented writer whose eerie stories are disregarded in 19th-century Mexico. Despite repeated attempts to silence her, she refuses to give up in the face of the rampant efforts to muffle her voice. However, the exact monsters she created come to life when she is forced into her mind.

She must bring fiction and reality back into harmony before both worlds collapse, under the guidance of Herneval, a tortured prince caught between dreams and nightmares. In the meantime, Procustes, the evil author, and his accomplices scheme to take over. The much-anticipated stop-motion film, I am Frankelda, will debut on Netflix on June 12.
