Fast and Furious has been outrunning franchise fatigue for so long, it almost deserves its own victory lap. It began as a modest 2001 street-racing film with a $38 million budget before shifting into globe-spanning heists and gravity-defying spectacle worth more than $7 billion worldwide. Yet Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto kept every wild ride fueled by family, while Paul Walker's farewell in Furious 7 gave the saga an emotional finish line fans never forgot.

The demand is still in top gear, with Fast and Furious now speeding onto Netflix as audiences prove they are far from pumping the brakes.

August 1 is about to sound a lot louder, because Fast and Furious is screeching onto Netflix with tires smoking. The streamer is bringing together the franchise's first seven films alongside Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw for United States viewers. It is the closest thing to a family reunion that Dominic Toretto could organize, only this time the driveway is Netflix.

The pit stop, however, is not permanent. Netflix is parking the collection for just 90 days before it speeds away on November 1. That makes the limited run less of a casual binge and more of a race against the clock for anyone hoping to revisit the saga from The Fast and the Furious through Furious 7.

Do not expect every gear in the garage, though. The Fate of the Furious, F9: The Fast Saga, and Fast X remain stuck in separate licensing lanes with Max, Amazon Prime Video, and Peacock, respectively. Even so, Netflix is getting the era that transformed Fast and Furious into a global phenomenon, and that alone is enough to ignite the engines.

As exciting titles are coming to Netflix this year, fans can still enjoy some classics thanks to Fast and Furious.

Why Fast and Furious is such a classic

Fast and Furious did not arrive with a billion-dollar engine, it started with a garage, a few neon lights, and enough nitrous to change Hollywood forever. The 2001 original, directed by Rob Cohen, turned underground car culture into a mainstream obsession while earning over $207 million worldwide from its modest $38 million budget. Its Point Break-style undercover story gave audiences a thrilling entry into street racing.

The franchise kept shifting gears without losing its soul. 2 Fast 2 Furious expanded the world to Miami, while The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift introduced Japanese drifting culture and Justin Lin, who later helped transform the series into a global spectacle. Fast & Furious reunited Vin Diesel and Paul Walker before Fast Five changed the game with heists, Dwayne Johnson, and international chaos. Furious 7 reached the emotional finish line with over $1.5 billion worldwide, proving that even the wildest stunts needed one thing most: family.
