Seven years, six seasons, and twenty-one Emmys later, Netflix’s The Crown stands tall as the favorite of every royal family aficionado. Throughout the six seasons, the show gave the lowdown on Queen Elizabeth’s reign and the royal shenanigans that unfolded behind the walls of the castles. Even though it got a bit of a side-eye for historical inaccuracies and the pay gap controversy, the show surely kept everyone talking. As the series wraps up in a few days, the cast looked back at the seven-year journey that kicked off in 2016.

Recently, the cast of The Crown gathered under one roof for the premiere of the second part of season six, where they took a trip down memory lane.

The first part of The Crown’s final season delved into Princess Diana’s life post-divorce and her untimely passing in 1997. Despite Prince William’s alleged aversion to the inaccuracies in his mother’s portrayal, the storyline became the sole focus of the first part. However, the next part would shine a light on the new vanguard of the British royal family- Prince William and his significant other, Kate Middleton, brought to life by Ed McVey and Meg Bellamy.

In the second installment, Prince William will be navigating his higher education at St. Andrews College, where he will meet the love of his life, Kate Middleton. Apart from the angle of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ love story, fans can also expect to get a dive into the relationship between King Charles and Queen Camilla, as well as looks at other royals like Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, and Prince Harry.
