The series is expected to follow a serialized format faithful to the source material.  Based on the Amazon Original Stories novella series, the 2024 novel comes from Academy Award winner Guillermo del Toro, known for The Shape of Water and Pinocchio, and bestselling author Chuck Hogan, famous for Prince of Thieves and The Standoff. The serialized novel The Boy in the Iron Box by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan is being adapted into a feature film by David Prior, director of Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities and The Empty Man. Leading the cast is Rupert Friend, whose recent performances in Jurassic World Rebirth, Companion, and Asteroid City demonstrate a talent for gravitas and intensity. Kevin Durand and Jaeden Martell, both seasoned in action and suspense, join to add further strength to the ensemble.
