The Duffer Brothers are trading the bicycle-riding teens of Indiana for a group of seniors in the high desert of New Mexico. This supernatural mystery promises to prove that age is just a number when it comes to battling monstrous entities. After the global phenomenon of Stranger Things, the creative duo returns as executive producers for The Boroughs. While the heroes have more life experience than the Hawkins gang, they possess the same misfit energy that defines a Duffer Brothers production.

The story centres on a newcomer whose arrival coincides with a series of terrifying and unexplainable events.

According to Tudum, in The Boroughs, Sam Cooper arrives at a seemingly perfect retirement facility only to find that paradise feels more like a prison. His life takes a dark turn after a monstrous nighttime encounter reveals that something predatory is stalking the manicured cul-de-sacs.

When the authorities dismiss his claims as the confusion of an elderly man, he must seek help elsewhere. Sam eventually joins forces with a band of unlikely neighborhood heroes to investigate the dark secret at the heart of the community.
