For the past few months, Netflix has been incessantly flooding its platform with a flurry of documentaries, mostly pertaining to sports and true crime stories. However, the upcoming month entails a relatively smaller slate of documentaries in the list of content set to make its way to the streamer. But, there are some pretty interesting titles among this small selection, ranging from a series about the worst neighbours of all time to one of the most devastating naval disasters of the century. Among these is a heartbreaking retelling of the tragedy at Lockerbie - a horrific aviation catastrophe.
Netflix is bringing The B****** of Pan Am 103 to its streaming platform this July for viewers to revisit the haunting accounts of the incident.

Netflix joined hands with BBC to produce a documentary on the tragedy of Pan Am Flight 103, also known as the Lockerbie b******, one of the worst aviation tragedies in history. Interestingly, the six-part historical thriller series was formerly titled simply Lockerbie. The B****** of Pan Am 103 will finally debut on Netflix worldwide on July 30, 2026, after first airing on the BBC in the UK.
The series's showrunner, Jonathan Lee (Who Killed Jando), co-wrote the drama with Gillian Roger Park (Flotsam). Michael Keillor, who previously directed and produced the thriller Roadkill and helmed Line of Duty episodes, is the series' director. The drama is not to be confused with Colin Firth's Lockerbie: A Search for Truth from the Sky and Peacock series. The Last Kingdom's production company, Carnival Film & Television, created that series, which debuted to critical acclaim in early 2025.
The cast for the series is stacked with some of the heavy-hitters like Connor Swindells of S** Education, Patrick J. Adams of Suits, Merritt Wever of Severance, Peter Mullan of Ozark, and Douglas Hodge of The Great. Additional cast includes Eddie Marsan, Nicholas Gleaves, Lauren Lyle, Andrew Rothney, Phyllis Logan, Cora Bissett, Kevin McKidd, Parker Sawyers, James Harkness, Molly Geddes, Khalid Laith, and Amanda Drew.
The drama looks promising, and the true story behind it gives it that extra punch required for a show with such a theme.
