‘Stranger Things’ Writers Send Wishes To Upside Down As Henry Creel Actor Jamie Campbell Bower Turns 35
In Netflix’s vast library and its delicately curated catalog, there are some productions that have long stood out. Among the biggest pioneers of fantasy for the streaming giant, the Duffer Brothers’ creation, Stranger Things is one that is impossible to miss. The Millie Bobby Brown-led cast has seen a journey through seven long years and four seasons as of now. Meanwhile, as the behemoth gears up for its concluding run with season five, the writers of the show are hard at work for one final goodbye. Tending to its vast cast, the team of scripters recently extended their wishes to Jamie Campbell with a message polar opposite to his character.
Fans usually associate the persona of a character with the artist. However, as it turns out, things are very different here at Hawkins.

The Harry Potter actor joined the cast of the fantasy show in season four as Henry Creel aka Vecna. Showcasing brilliant skills and emotional range on set, he quickly garnered a revered fan following for his dedication. Today, on 22nd November, the actor turned 35 and the writers of the show could not help wishing him the best. “He is genuinely one of the nicest, most generous, loving people we know.” The statement from the writers’ team sealed Bower’s acting prowess for acting antipodal to his real self.
In his one season of appearance, the actor was subject to a wide deal of prosthetics. Additionally, the task of standing neck-to-neck with other long-established actors in the show was no easy feat. However, he won the tide with a nomination for the 2023 Critics’ Choice Super Award in the Best Villain in a Series category. Furthermore, his character also won the show an Emmy for Outstanding Prosthetic Make-Up. The actor is due to return for season five, where he will face and seal the fate of many characters.
The Duffer Brothers, on the other hand, have taken to a stage play spin-off to narrate the origins of the show’s supervillain.

The big bad of Stranger Things, Henry Creel, was just a boy when he killed his mother and sister and framed his father for the same. Thanks to his psychic abilities, he manipulated many, including Eleven, to unleash havoc at Hawkins National Laboratory. However, Eleven sent him to Upside Down, which canonically happened on September 8, 1979. The toxic atmosphere and lightning of the hellish avenue eventually transformed Creel into Vecna.
A thorough origin of the character is to take shape in Stranger Things: The First Shadow. The stage play will debut on December 14, 2023, in London and will also explore Hawkins back in 1959. Characters such as Jim Hopper, Joyce Byers, and Bob Newby will also grace the theater in their younger versions. Meanwhile, the show is on track for production and is aiming for a release at the earliest despite the SAG-AFTRA delay.
