Noah Schnapp has recently been honest about how the fifth season of the Netflix sci-fi epic brought him close to co-star Maya Hawke, who plays Robin. He explained that filming the emotional scenes between Will and Robin helped the duo develop a deeper, more personal connection. “I adore that woman. I had such a friend-crush on her through the years,” Schnapp told Variety, while gushing about Hawke and his admiration for her talent.

Speaking to the outlet, Schnapp characterized Hawke as a teacher, complimenting her for sharing the wisdom inherited from her A-lister parents, Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman. "I was like a sponge around her, taking all the knowledge, and I loved it," he said. He even considered her his role model in real life throughout the decade of evolving on the set of Stranger Things. For Schnapp, their bond was very real, significant, and came out of their chaotic times in Hawkins, as they finally prepare to leave the Upside Down for good, looking forward to a new start with a slate full.
