7 Netflix Releases Worth Adding to Your Watchlist This Week

With summer in full swing, there is no better excuse to stay indoors and revisit beloved classics while discovering new favorites. And for the same reason, this month Netflix has pulled out an impressive lineup packed with chilling horror, adventures, and wholesome movies and shows. While several more anticipated releases are set to arrive later this month, the first week already boasts a fascinating slate.

So, here are the 7 movies and shows to watch this week.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Spider-Man fans have plenty to look forward to this month with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day set to arrive on July 31, 2026. With anticipation soaring, there is no better time to revisit Peter Parker's journey from the very beginning. And the first film, Spider-Man: Homecoming, is streaming on Netflix now. 

This is Holland's first solo film as the web-slinging superhero, following Peter as he juggles the challenges of high school with the responsibilities of being a superhero. The movie has a star-studded cast, including Zendaya, Michael Keaton, Robert Downey Jr., and more. It is the perfect movie to stream before the next chapter swings into theaters.

The Witch

The Witch is set in 1630s New England and follows a Puritan family whose peaceful life is interrupted after the mysterious disappearance of their infant son. With fear and suspicion consuming the household, they begin to believe an evil force in the nearby forest is responsible for their misery. Anya Taylor-Joy shows a terrific performance in her feature film debut, joined by Ralph Ineson, Harvey Scrimshaw, Kate Dickie, Ellie Grainger, and Lucas Dawson. 

With films like Obsession and Backrooms drawing in millions to the twisted horror genre, now is the perfect time to revisit The Witch at home.

Human Vapor

What if the most formidable opponent was a man who could transform into vapor and eliminate his enemies? Netflix premiered the science fiction crime thriller series Human Vapor on July 2, 2026. Based on the 1960 tokusatsu film The Human Vapor, the series, Human Vapor follows Detective Kenji Okamoto and reporter Kyoko Kono as they investigate a mysterious man with the ability to turn into gas, who begins targeting people connected to the secretive White Center organization. 

However, during the investigation, the two discover a decades-old conspiracy involving a meteorite crash, government cover-ups, and much more, while the Human Vapor seeks revenge on those responsible. Shun Oguri, Yū Aoi, and Suzu Hirose star in the series. The series consists of eight episodes, each running nearly 45 minutes, making it a binge-worthy watch this week.

Summer ’36

Summer '36 is packed with luxury, drama, murder mystery, and chaos into one limited series. Set on the Côte d'Azur in 1936, it follows four women from different social classes who get involved in a murder at the luxurious Riviera Hotel. Scandalous secrets, deep class divides, and shocking revelations are set to keep the viewers hooked till the end.

'Fool Me Once' on Netflix: Meet the Cast of Harlan Coben’s Thriller

The limited series stars Julie de Bona, Sofia Essaïdi, Nolwenn Leroy, Constance Gay, and Arthur Pichon. Perfect for a binge-watch, the series features six thrilling episodes, each running for an average of 55 minutes.

Queen & Slim

Queen & Slim follows a lawyer and her Tinder date whose first date takes a tragic turn when a routine traffic stop leads to the death of a police officer in self-defense. This begins the movie where the two take a trip across the country. Directed by Melina Matsoukas, the film stars Daniel Kaluuya, Jodie Turner-Smith, Bokeem Woodbine, and Chloë Sevigny. 

The movie premiered at the AFI Fest in 2019 and is finally available to stream on Netflix. 

Apollo 13

Apollo 13 is a 1995 docudrama film directed by Ron Howard and is based on a true incident. The film follows Astronaut Jim Lovell and his crew as they set out on the Apollo 13 mission, but an unexpected explosion cripples their spacecraft. Trapped in space with limited oxygen, power, and water, the astronauts and Mission Control work together to overcome a series of life-threatening challenges to bring the crew safely back to Earth. 

Tom Hanks, Ed Harris, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton, and Gary Sinise star in the movie. As the Fourth of July celebration continues, Apollo 13 is a timeless watch to add to the movie marathon.

Worst Neighbor Ever

Netflix is home to several true crime docuseries and documentaries, and one of the latest added to the July line-up is Worst Neighbor Ever. It is a true crime docuseries that looks into the spine-chilling real cases in which simple neighbourhood disputes turned dangerous. Each standalone episode follows a different case.

The Netflix series consists of 4 episodes, all of which were released together on July 1, 2026, and is available to stream now. Apart from these seven movies and series, July's lineup also includes several beloved classics. The Boss Baby, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Gone Girl, White Chicks, and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory are all streaming on the platform. And even more exciting movies and shows, including animated series and thrillers, are set to arrive throughout the month.
