Season 56 of Sesame Street, which debuted on Netflix on November 10, brought back all the favorite characters, including Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Grover, Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, and Zoe. This season, according to Tudum, will feature star-studded guest appearances from Grammy winner Miley Cyrus, NASCAR champion Bubba Wallace, and more, promising fun-filled moments that both kids and adults will enjoy.
The new season brings more fun and imagination to Sesame Street, reports Tudum. Cookie Monster runs his very own cookie cart, while Abby Cadabby explores a magical fairy garden and cares for her whimsical Magic Beasties, including musical dragon triplets, teaching kids about compassion and kindness. Grover is back with his magical suitcase, transforming into whatever his friends need. Plus, the new animated segment Tales from 123 shows Elmo, Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, and others getting into playful adventures on the apartment stoop, with a surprise visit from Oscar the Grouch. Now that Sesame Street is on Netflix, though, will it no longer air on TV?
That will not be the case, as Sesame Street’s new deal with Netflix ensures both digital and traditional viewers receive access at the same time.
Sesame Street’s Netflix collaboration guarantees equal access for all viewers
Sesame Street has been a trusted part of people’s childhood since it first aired on NET (National Educational Television) on November 10, 1969, before the network evolved into PBS, where the show continued to reach millions of families for decades. Now, its Netflix collaboration carries that legacy forward. Every new episode, divided into three volumes, will debut at the same time on the streamer and on PBS platforms, including the PBS KIDS app, ensuring that all children, whether streaming or watching on TV or other digital devices, enjoy equal, free access to its joyful learning.
