Not only does the live-action adaptation aims at questioning the standards animated barbie movies have set so far, but it also satirizes the long-held patriarchal norms. And while everything was pretty much hush hush until now, the trailer manages to give some insights to its audience, and well, fans are going over the wall, putting these unique demands forward on their Twitter walls.
Fans are spamming their Twitter after much awaited Barbie trailer rolls out, showing Ryan Gosling in action:
After months of waiting, the first teaser trailer of Barbie premiered on the big screen on December 15th. Following this, they released the 1-minute prologue-esque clip on the internet on December 16th, collapsing the world wide web in the process.
It opens with an allusion to Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey complete with Richard Strauss’ Also Sprach Zarathustra blaring in the background. We could see little girls playing with their dolls until one day, a giant barbie appears, entirely changing the course of history.
Yes, we know you are already going crazy over the teaser. But don’t you worry. It’s not just you. People are apparently booking their Avatar 2 tickets to watch the teaser. Moreover, Twitter users are also going up the wall after watching the trailer as they make these demands to pre-book their tickets in peculiar ways.
