Literary adaptations for the big and small screens are nothing new. In the history of entertainment, many literary heritages have found a wider audience and exposure through the screen. And next in line for this is mystery novel writer Harlan Coben’s 2019 novel Run Away. The author, who has multiple TV and film adaptations to boast like Fool Me Once, Gone for Good, Just One Look, and more, successfully added Run Away to this list a while ago.

Bringing another sensational story to life with this series, here is all you need to know about the upcoming Netflix adaptation.

The eight-episode thriller will be led by James Nesbitt as Simon Green, who is credited for The Missing and Cold Feet. He is playing a man whose perfect life starts to crumble after his daughter runs away. His daughter Paige Greene will be played by Ellie de Lange, who is known for Wolf Hall.

Playing her mother and wife to Simon is Minnie Driver as Ingrid Greene, known for Good Will Hunting. Besides them, the series has a long list of ensemble including Ruth Jones, Alfred Enoch, Lucian Msamati, Jon Pointing, Adrian Greensmith, Ellie Henry, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Annette Badland, Ingrid Oliver, and more.

The characters in this series promise to be just as intriguing and gripping as the story.

The upcoming limited series will take you inside the dark and tragic world of human trafficking for the flesh business. When his daughter Paige runs away, Simon takes it upon himself to bring her back, but his search takes him into a dangerous underworld harboring deep secrets that could tear his family apart forever.

When he does find her vulnerable and strung out with addiction in a city park, his chance to bring back his daughter is not as easy as it appears. According to the author Harlan Coben, he found James Nesbitt a perfect cast for this role, and praising him previously, he said, “Jimmy just has so much range. He’s so natural and authentic at all times.”

At the moment, the series does not have a confirmed release date yet, but production has started earlier this year. It is expected that the series will be coming on Netflix in 2026, but which month it is going to come out in is not known.

In the meantime, fans can enjoy Netflix's slate of June lineup. Also, for this year, Harlan Coben already has a series, Missing You, lined up for release. Starring Rosalind Eleazar, it is set in the UK and revolves around a man with a mysterious past and a woman on a mission with so many secrets. While fans wait for Run Away, they can fulfill Coben's dose of mysteries with this series.
