It’s raining cats and dogs for readers who were interested in the affairs of the Royal family. Earlier this year they were greeted with Prince Harry’s bombshell of a memoir, Spare, and now seasoned Royal photographer Arthur Edwards is releasing his own book. Named Behind The Crown: My Life Photographing the Royal Family, the book dwells into his 45 years long tenure as a photographer of the Royal family covering for The Sun. Among the many things he has learned, he shared the “trick” to capture the perfect photo of the younger generation of the Royals. “The trick is to be patient,” Edwards said speaking to People magazine.

He also created a parallel between the younger Royal and Queen Elizabeth II. Edward’s golden trick is built on the theory that there ought to be a moment where the kids smile or wave or, in Princess Charlotte’s case -pull out their tongues. And you just need to be on your toes to capture that perfect moment.
