In October 2022, Netflix will release an intriguing new romantic comedy anime series. Romantic Killer takes inspiration from Wataru Momose‘s manga of the same name and is one of the first anime to be announced for Netflix this fall. Here’s what we know so far about Netflix’s Romantic Killer.

Kazuya Ichikaw will helm the film version of the award-winning manga. The manga initially appeared as a webcomic on LINE Manga Indies and other sites before officially debuting in Shounen Jump+ on July 30th, 2019. The manga has four volumes and 39 chapters in all, which implies we may only see one season of adaptations.
The show is about Anzu Hoshino, a non-heroine type high school student who ignores fashion and romance in favor of spending her days playing video games. When the wizard Riri emerges out of nowhere, Anzu is compelled to engage in the Magical World’s population-control effort.
This romantic comedy illustrates what occurs when gorgeous men replace Anzu’s three favorite things — video games, chocolate, and cats in her life. Anzu is adamant that she never wanted to live in a relationship simulation game. She meets a handsome boy who is so popular it aches, a clean-cut and athletic childhood buddy, and a stunning affluent young guy who is oblivious to the world around him.
Who stars in the show?
We know of only two cast members from Romantic Killer: Rie Takahashi will play Anzu Hoshino, while Mikako Komatsu will play the wizard Riri.
Fans of popular isekai anime will recognize Rie Takahashi as the voice of KonoSuba’s Megumin and Emilia in RE: Zero. Mikako Komatsu is famous for her roles as Rebecca Bluegarden in Eden’s Zero, Senkuu in Dr. Stone, and Maki Zenin in Jujutsu Kaisen.
