Regina King and David E Kelley Come Together for a New Netflix Limited Series &#8211; ‘A Man in Full&#8217;

It seems Netflix is aiming higher and higher. The streaming giant has
established itself as a formidable production house with the likes of original
productions like House of Cards, Stranger Things, Queen’s Gambit, and more. Now
Netflix has struck a deal with Regina King and David E. Kelley to produce a
limited series for the platform. The new series is an adaptation of Tom Wolfe’s
best-selling 1998 novel, A Man in Full. 


REGINA KING WILL DIRECT THE NETFLIX SERIES 

This will mark her second collaboration with the streaming giant. Regina King
had starred in the acclaimed Netflix [https://netflixjunkie.com/category/news]
film, The Harder They Fall [https://netflixjunkie.com/tag/the-harder-they-fall]
alongside Idris Elba. Now, after a whole year, she is returning to the platform
but not in the form of an actor but as a director. She has previously proved her
mettle at directing with shows like This is Us, The Good Doctor, Shameless,
Animal Kingdoms, etc. It isn’t known whether she’ll occupy the director’s seat
for the entirety of the series or not. However, she will direct the pilot
episode.

The streamer has also roped in eleven times Emmy winner, David E. Kelley to
serve as showrunner, producer, and writer on the show. He has worked on projects
like Big Little Lies, The Lincoln Lawyer, Boston Legal, and L.A Law. The man has
created another series for the streamer, Anatomy of a Scandal

WHAT ABOUT THE PLOT OF THE SERIES? 

The story follows Charles Croker, once a football star and now a conglomerate
king in Atlanta, and his young second wife, Serena. In his sixties, he’s facing
bankruptcy after placing a bet with another businessman. If this wasn’t bad
enough, his friend’s daughter accuses a black football star, Fareek “The Cannon”
Fanon of date rape. The case has the possibility of inciting riots in the
racially mixed town of Atlanta and affecting everyone’s lives in high society,
including Croker’s. 


WHEN WILL THE SERIES RELEASE ON THE STREAMER?

There is no official release date yet. A Man in Full

The shoot is to begin tentatively in May or June 2022 and continue till October
2022. The six-part series will be filmed in Atlanta. Moreover, the production
house hasn’t confirmed any cast members yet.
