During this time, the platform has released several projects adapted from Harlan Coben’s crime novels. From shocking disappearances to thrilling mysteries, each series has made a strong impression on viewers. However, for newcomers, it can be confusing to decide which of the Harlan Coben adaptations are the best or how to start watching.
With that in mind, here are all the Harlan Coben mystery series on Netflix, from least liked to best.

Hold Tight
Hold Tight is a six-episode crime drama based on the novel of the same name by Harlan Coben. The Polish series is set in a wealthy suburb of Warsaw, where 18-year-old Adam Barczyk goes missing shortly after the death of his friend, Igor.
Released in 2022, the show was praised for its performances and direction. However, some viewers felt that the series did not have the same emotional depth as the novel.
Gone for Good
Gone for Good is another mystery series based on Harlan Coben’s novel of the same name. This French-language television show follows a man who witnessed the devastating trauma of losing both his first love and his brother. Years later, he is drawn back into secrets and mysteries when his girlfriend suddenly disappears.
Just One Look
Just One Look is yet another Polish series that follows the life of jewellery designer and happily married woman Greta. The 6 episodes show starts when Greta develops a series of photographs and discovers one featuring her husband, but she does not recognise anyone else in the image.
Her life is turned upside down soon after uncovering the photograph. While the mystery element is handled well, the series received mixed reactions from viewers.
Caught
The series, Caught, based on the novel of the same name by author Harlan Coben, follows the story of Ema Garay, an investigative journalist working on a case involving the disappearance of a teenager. However, she soon realizes that a key suspect is someone she knows and is close to.
While the story is compelling, some fans felt it lacked the strong cliffhangers typically found in most Harlan Coben thrillers.
Missing You
Missing You, based on Harlan Coben’s novel series of the same name, follows the story of Detective Kat Donovan. Nearly 10 years after the passing of her fiancé, Josh, she gets on a dating profiles app only to find Josh among the users. As she investigates the case, Kat Donovan discovers more troubles.
While this show was quite promising, some felt that it followed a similar pattern to other Harlan Coben shows.
Fool Me Once
Fool Me Once, based on Harlan Coben’s novel, features some of the most compelling twists and suspenseful moments among his screen adaptations. The story follows former military pilot Maya Stern, who is struggling with PTSD after losing both her husband and her sister in the same year.
Things take a disturbing turn when she sees her husband speaking to their child on the nanny cam.
Run Away
Run Away is currently causing a buzz after Netflix announced its release on the streaming platform. For viewers familiar with previous shows based on Harlan Coben’s works, this thriller is one not to be missed. The series follows the story of a father, Simon Greene, and his relentless search for answers after his daughter, Paige, goes missing.
With family drama and interesting twists, the 8-episode series, Run Away is clearly a compelling must-watch.
The Woods
The Woods is yet another thriller show based on Harlan Coben’s show and was told across two timelines, 1994 and 2019, and both follow the life of Paweł Kopiński. While the first timeline followed a teen Paweł Kopiński, who worked at a summer camp where his sister Kamila mysteriously disappeared.
Years later, now a widowed prosecutor, he is drawn into a murder case eerily linked to his past. The series is likely to keep the readers hooked till the end. It has 6 episodes, and one can binge-watch the series.
The Stranger
Like many of Harlan Coben’s thrillers, The Stranger is packed with shocking twists and gripping cliffhangers. The eight-part British mystery series follows Adam Price, a family man whose life is turned upside down when a mysterious woman reveals a secret about his wife. When he confronts his wife to find the truth, she suddenly disappears.
Thrilling and full of surprises, The Stranger is a brilliantly written thriller and certainly a must-watch.
Stay Close
The eight-episode series Stay Close follows four seemingly unconnected people, including Megan Pierce.
However, their lives intersect when a mysterious disappearance from years ago resurfaces. With strong performances, Stay Close balances the suspense well.
The Innocent
Packed with nonstop revelations, The Innocent is considered one of the best adaptations of a Harlan Coben novel. The series follows Mateo Vidal, who is trying to start a new life after serving prison time for a tragic accident.
However, things take a turn when he receives an unexpected call that pulls him back into the drama. The impressive story is matched by powerful performances from the cast.
Safe
Safe is a British thriller series and one of the best shows to watch on Netflix. It follows widower Tom Delaney, whose teenage daughter vanishes without a trace. As he searches for answers, he uncovers disturbing secrets within his community and realizes that the people around him are not who they appear to be. This 8-episode series is a must-watch!
