Possible Love follows the lives of two married couples from vastly different social backgrounds whose paths unexpectedly intersect. It is about Mi-ok and her laid-off husband, Ho-seok, who meet wealthy documentary filmmaker Ye-ji and her husband, Sang-woo. As Ye-ji begins filming a documentary about laid-off workers, this brings the two couples together. And as they spend more time around one another, each faces their long-buried emotions, personal frustrations, and desires.
“I’m not the type of filmmaker who can make movies easily,” Chang-dong told Tudum. “Before I begin a film, I must be certain of what it means — to me, to the audience, and to cinema itself. That is why Possible Love took so long to make.”
