The Peaky Blinders universe refuses to stay buried in the smoke of Birmingham’s past. Instead, it is striking a fresh fuse. With the official first look now revealed, the upcoming spin-off series steps boldly into a post–Tommy Shelby era, introducing a new generation of Shelbys, shifting power dynamics, and a cast packed with both familiar faces and surprising new additions.
Set roughly a decade after The Immortal Man, the sequel series, created and written by Steven Knight, follows Tommy Shelby’s son, Duke Shelby, as he navigates a fractured post-war Britain still haunted by the legacy of the Peaky empire. With that foundation in place, here are all the confirmed cast members joining him in the upcoming series, which will air on the BBC in the UK and stream globally on Netflix.

In the upcoming Peaky Blinders sequel series, the role of Duke Shelby has now been taken over by Jamie Bell, with the character set to be portrayed in a more mature phase of his journey as he steps fully into leadership in post-war Birmingham. This latest recasting aligns with the series’ time jump into the 1950s and its focus on a new generation inheriting the Shelby legacy.
The character has already been portrayed by multiple actors across different stages of the Peaky Blinders universe due to his age progression. In the original series timeline, a younger Duke Shelby was played by Conrad Khan. As the story moved forward into the 2026 film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, the role was recast with Barry Keoghan, reflecting an older, more established version of Tommy Shelby’s son and his growing position within the Peaky empire.
Charlie Heaton
Another confirmed cast member is the Stranger Things actor, Charlie Heaton, who is joining the upcoming Peaky Blinders sequel series as Charles Shelby. According to first-look announcements from Netflix and BBC, he steps into the expanded ensemble of the new 1950s-set narrative, continuing the story in the aftermath of Netflix chart topper, The Immortal Man, after severing all ties with his family.
While his exact role has been closely guarded, Charles Shelby is the son of Tommy Shelby, which places Heaton right at the emotional center of the legacy left behind by one of television’s most influential crime dynasties.
In the original series, Charles was largely kept within a more domestic, sheltered space, distant from the full weight of the Shelby criminal world. That contrast makes his return in this new era especially intriguing.
Jessica Brown Findlay
Jessica Brown Findlay is also an official part of the upcoming Peaky Blinders sequel series, alongside Jamie Bell and Charlie Heaton. However, her exact character name and storyline are still being kept tightly under wraps. It is speculated that she is not reprising an existing role or directly tied to the original Shelby family characters we already know, but instead stepping into a brand-new, undisclosed character within this next era of the Peaky Blinders universe.
She first became widely known for her role as Lady Sybil Crawley in Downton Abbey, where she played one of the most emotionally defining characters in the series. She later appeared in Black Mirror, delivering a memorable performance in a dystopian episode. In film and television, she continued to build a reputation for layered performances, most notably in Harlots, where she played Charlotte Wells in 18th-century London’s survival-driven economy, making her casting in the Peaky Blinders sequel especially intriguing as the universe shifts into a new generation and a more politically complex post-war world.
Lashana Lynch
Another main cast addition to the upcoming Peaky Blinders sequel is Lashana Lynch, whose role is currently completely undisclosed and is being intentionally kept under wraps for narrative impact. While there has been fan speculation about her potentially playing a character like Elizabeth Younger, there is no official confirmation of that, and her casting remains one of the more intriguing mysteries of the new series.
Lynch is widely known for breaking through as the first Black female 007 agent, Nomi, in No Time to Die. She also made a strong mark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel and its related projects. More recently, she delivered a standout lead performance in The Day of the Jackal, where she played an intelligence operative tracking a highly dangerous assassin.
Lucy Karczewski
Lucy Karczewski is also part of the upcoming Peaky Blinders sequel series, making her television debut as one of the newer faces in the ensemble. Her character name and storyline have not yet been revealed, as the series is currently in production under the direction of Steven Knight, with details around the new 1950s-era narrative being closely guarded.

Karczewski is a British actress whose screen career is just beginning, built alongside a strong foundation in theatre. She has worked both as a writer and performer in the short-form project Nan Swap, and in Monotropa, she played Phoebe. She also appeared in the 2025 short film #Fitspo, portraying a fitness influencer navigating pressure and self-image in a digital-driven world. Beyond screen work, she has gained notable recognition in London theatre, particularly for her work in Stereophonic, where her performance contributed to award wins and an Olivier Award nomination.
