Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan Get Candid About Playing Toxic Spouses in 'Beef' Season 2
After three long years, the return of Beef for season 2 finally gives fans something to sink their teeth into. And this time, the season, which will focus on a new couple played by Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan, appears just as messy as the first season. Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan recently spoke about their characters during a conversation with Variety. When asked about the mean words they had to say to each other on screen, Mulligan went on to praise the writers for their brilliance in writing the perfect lines for each character. However, when asked about how they handle the toxicity at the end of filming, Isaac had an amusing response.
“Just drink a lot, edibles, all sorts of edibles,” Issac joked about it.

In the opening scene of the latest trailer, Mulligan’s character, Lindsay, admits they may have chosen the wrong person in life. In another scene, Isaac’s character, Josh, is on the verge of hurling a golf club at her. And that is until they both realise they are being watched by Ashley ( Cailee Spaeny) and Austin (Charles Melton).
Now, much like Mulligan pointed out, the writing and the performance were incredible, but it was not an easy feat.
