Stranger Things was a cultural phenomenon, and it understandably left a massive impact on its cast both personally and professionally. During a recent conversation reflecting on their time with the hit Netflix series, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, and Jamie Campbell Bower shared some of the most valuable lessons they learned while working on the show. While some cast members, such as Schnapp, practically grew up in front of the camera during the show's nearly decade-long run, others saw it become a turning point in their careers.

The cast of Stranger Things, including Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Jamie Campbell Bower, David Harbour, casting director Carmen Cuba, and stunt coordinator Hiro Koda, recently sat down together for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations series. Before reflecting on their experiences on the show, the cast shared the biggest lessons they learned while working on set. For Schnapp, the experience taught him to believe in himself and his instincts.

“You're gonna have lots of opinions and lots of people telling you to do one thing to a runway. There's no right way in this business. It's a subjective art. It's not math, it's not an objective one,” he said.

“I think there's a lot of recognising that it's a collaborative thing and being able to bring your piece of it,” Dyer said about team effort and learning how to contribute her own skills and ideas in the show

While Schnapp played the role of Will, Dyer was Nancy Wheeler in the show. Meanwhile, Bower, who played Vecna, learned something much more intense about the work and preparation. He spoke about giving all his efforts into preparing for the role.

“Pull every thread, unturn, every stone that you can. It is sort of that idea of like prepare, prepare, prepare, and then be prepared to kind of throw it all the way,” he said.

And what the cast learned during their time on Stranger Things was reflected in the show, including the final season. The series has been a massive success, bringing its blend of '80s nostalgia and supernatural mystery while catapulting its young cast to stardom. Although Stranger Things concluded its run with Season 5, it remains a major part of pop culture.
