After a tumultuous season 2, Nobody Wants This is returning for another emotional ride. While there is plenty to expect from the new season, a breakup may no longer be on the cards, as creator Erin Foster revealed. The previous season of the series, which premiered on Netflix in October last year, showed the trials of love and hardships as beloved characters Noah and Joanne went through a heartbreaking breakup.

But after their breakup, the two eventually realized how much they loved each other and reunited. Now, season 3 of the show will be a new chapter for Noah and Joanne, as creator Foster hinted.

Nobody Wants This creator Erin Foster revealed that she wanted to portray a more realistic side of romance. She explained that after the trials and tribulations of Season 2, Noah and Joanne now truly know and understand each other. With the dramatic breakups and grand romantic moments behind them, the next season will instead focus on how their relationship continues to grow as they move forward together.

“It doesn’t sound s*** but that is the foundation of a good relationship. So now that that’s established and there’s no more breaking up, there’s no more like running to each other, now it’s like, OK let’s move forward and see what that looks like,” she said in her interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Adam Brody, who plays Noah in the series, explained that Season 3 could be one of the best yet because the characters now understand each other better. So, the next season will follow Noah and Joanne in an entirely new turf as they deal with new hurdles. Yet another intriguing aspect to look forward to in season 3 is the cast.

The mastermind behind the show seems unwilling to leave any stone unturned, making way for a very interesting cast addition.

Nobody Wants This season 3 has a fascinating cast addition

Erin Foster will play Nicole, who is a terminally single and chaotic character in Nobody Wants This season 3. Foster revealed that she was originally supposed to play Joanne, but later stepped away from acting in the show because she already had enough responsibilities behind the scenes. However, during the writing process, which had begun back in 2025, the team, including Foster herself, eventually decided that she should take on the role of Nicole.

“And then this character was written in the writer’s room — nothing to do with me — and when I was like impersonating what I think she should be like, it became kind of clear, OK, I guess I should be playing Nicole,” she said to The Hollywood Reporter.

Foster shared that there are still many guest stars she hopes to bring to the show, with Adam Sandler as the first name on her wish list. Adam Brody also mentioned names like Barbra Streisand. Now, these potential surprises could either appear in a future installment or perhaps in the upcoming season. Season 3 of the show is expected to arrive later this year.
