Season 5 of Netflix's popular teen adventure drama Outer Banks has been officially confirmed as the final escapade of the beloved Pogues, and the show is getting ready for its concluding chapter. With the announcement of its renewal in November 2024, immediately after season 4, the makers revealed that they will be wrapping up the show for good with the upcoming season. Since then, viewers have kept a careful eye on news regarding the cast's comeback, the release date of Outer Banks Season 5, and what will happen after the dramatic events of season 4.

Now, the details on the final season of Netflix’s Outer Banks have started to come to light slowly.

Post-production is well underway now that filming is finished. Netflix formally announced the show's revival in January 2026. Although Netflix has not yet disclosed a precise release date, it is widely anticipated that the last season will debut on our screens in the late summer or early fall of 2026.

Just like the filming details of the season, there is also confirmed information about the roster of Outer Banks season 5. 

Chase Stokes as John B, Madelyn Cline as Sarah Cameron, Madison Bailey as Kiara, Jonathan Daviss as Pope, Carlacia Grant as Cleo, Austin North as Topper, Drew Starkey as Rafe Cameron, and Fiona Palomo as Sofia are all expected to return, according to the official Netflix cast slate. Moreover, Cullen Moss (Sheriff Shoupe) and J. Anthony Crane (Chandler Groff), two returning actors, have been formally elevated to series regulars for the final season.

Julia Antonelli as Wheezie Cameron will also return after her last appearance in season 3, per Showsnob. Additional support cast includes Jason Alan Carvell as Anton Finch, Josh Hooks as Driss, Ali Lopez-Sohaili as Zac, Slavko Sobin as Henrique, Clyde Willems as Javon, Andrei Lenart in an undisclosed role, Deja Dee as D.A. Carruth, Calvin Noble as Johnny-O, and Jesse La Flair as Srimper 1.

Outer Banks season 5 will entail the events following the season 4 finale. Groff has fled to Lisbon with the Blue Crown, and the Pogues will be after him in season five. Naturally, the reveal of Sarah and John B's pregnancy during the commotion gives the conclusion more emotional weight and will create a new dynamic for Season 5.

In addition to series creators Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke, cinematographer Lukas Ettlin is mentioned as one of the directors for season 5. There are a lot of expectations tied to the impending season as the series finale, and it will be interesting to see how the show delivers on it.
