Netflix’s ‘Outback’ Gets a Star-Powered Boost With Jung Ho Yeon and Justin H. Min

Inspired by the hit webtoon G’day, Netflix’s Outback is shaping up to be an interesting Australian-set mystery thriller. The upcoming series is currently in production, and will star Ryu Jun Yeol, who is leading the project with Hong Kyung. The adaptation is yet another ambitious international production for Netflix, blending a tense mystery with an undisclosed locale. Already, Outback is generating buzz ahead of its eventual release thanks to its webtoon origins, captivating Australian setting and a strong Korean cast. 

The mystery is already intriguing, but Outback just got even more exciting with two internationally known stars joining its growing cast. 

Jung Ho Yeon and Justin H. Min join Ryu Jun Yeol for Netflix’s mysterious Outback

Squid Game star Jung Ho Yeon and The Umbrella Academy actor Justin H. Min have joined the cast of Netflix’s upcoming Australian mystery thriller Outback, alongside Ryu Jun Yeol and Hong Kyung, as per Whats On Netflix. The webtoon adaptation is being filmed with Jeon Doo Kwan at the h. The series looks set to be an international thriller, with a cast to match, and a mysterious story set against the stunning locale of the Australian outback.

Amidst What's On Netflix's report, the actors' background have come into focus. Justin H. Min is an American actor who gained international fame for his performance as Ben Hargreeves in Netflix's The Umbrella Academy. He later starred alongside Colin Farrell as the humanoid companion Yang in the acclaimed sci-fi drama After Yang. His other credits include Beef, Shortcomings, The Greatest Hits, Detained and Faking It. Min also featured on the reality competition, Netflix's The Devil’s Plan

On the other hand, Jung Ho-yeon, who has won SAG for her performance in Squid Game., is a South Korean model and actress who rose to international fame with her breakout role as Kang Sae-byeok in Netflix’s Squid Game. She later appeared in the series Disclaimer, and had a cameo appearance in Chicken Nugget. Her film credits include Na Hong-jin’s Hope and she is attached to the upcoming A24 film The Governesses.

With Jung Ho-yeon bringing her global star power to the project, Outback is also set to take audiences on a tense and mysterious search for answers. 

Outback follows a man’s unsettling search for his missing sister in Australia

Outback tells the story of Shion, a tensed man, who heads to Australia after losing touch with his sister Shiyoung. He is determined to find out what happened to her and arrives at the shared house where she was living, looking for answers. However, when he observes something disturbing about the people who live there, his concern soon turns to suspicion. As Shion searches for his missing sister, he begins to suspect that the residents of the shared house know more than they are letting on.

A gripping mystery, a star-studded international cast and an eerie Australian setting make Outback an intriguing addition to Netflix’s thriller lineup. With Ryu Jun Yeol, Jung Ho Yeon and Justin H. Min, the webtoon adaptation is even more thrilling.
