While Netflix confirmed Untamed season 2 just minutes ago, the streaming platform has not announced an official release date yet. This means that although there were speculations about the sophomore season dropping in October, they remain just that, speculations.

The renewal follows shortly after the show’s strong debut in the Netflix Top 10. Although production is reportedly underway, fans will have to wait a little longer before any concrete release timeline is revealed by Netflix. Untamed also keeps its cast card scarce.

Eric Bana, Sam Neill, Lily Santiago, Rosemarie DeWitt, and more starred in Untamed season 1, each adding a layered dynamic to the series’ twisted plot. However, not many of them have been confirmed for a comeback in season 2 of the show, with Netflix only confirming Bana’s return as the Investigative Services Branch agent Kyle Turner as of now.

Untamed co-creator Mark L. Smith, however, per Tudum, teased that some of Turner’s colleagues from Yosemite National Park could certainly make an appearance, saying, “We are trying to figure that stuff out.” Smith added, “In an ideal world, we would be able to pull something off.” Meanwhile, the chatter about the upcoming season's potential plot is defying decibels.

What to expect from Untamed season 2?

The new season of Untamed will feature a park as distinct as Yosemite, Elle Smith, the other co-creator of the much-celebrated Netflix offering, said. Expressing how each national park has a distinct characteristic, Smith added, “Being able to explore those places through the case and through Turner’s journey is what is so fascinating.” According to her, a shift in scenery will also mean Kyle Turner will feel far less at home, making him take on a role much similar to his rookie sidekick Naya Vasquez (Lily Santiago) in season 1.

According to both Elle and Mark Smith, Kyle Turner will have explored a bunch of different national parks before facing his next case in Untamed season 2, which will not mirror someone falling off a mountain like the debut installment. Well, with whatever limited details are available, the imminent Untamed season appears poised to reignite the intrigue that made the series a standout hit the first time around.
