In a gripping six-episode mystery thriller, Yosemite National Park is picked apart for a complete one-eighty narrative from the usual family-friendly one. The showrunner duo, Mark L. Smith, emphasized to Tudum that Untamed strips away modern conveniences or "cheats" to focus on raw human character and survival instincts in the wild, reducing it "...down to the character and what they can find within themselves". Starring Eric Bana as Kyle Turner, a special agent with the National Parks Service’s Investigative Services Branch, tasked with solving a brutal murder within the park’s vast wilderness, and who quickly realizes that the park’s beauty is only skin-deep.

The show also marks a production collaboration between Warner Bros. Television and John Wells Productions.  With its impressive team of Mark L. Smith, known for The Revenant, and his daughter Elle Smith adding a fresh yet seasoned storytelling approach, it is also the post-Marvel face, stud in the tri-jeweled crown of the anticipated Apex. Eric Bana is alsio leading the executive production of the show, and personal investments are said to be the driving force behind his involvement.

An on-film speculation it may be, and brushed off as is. But what if the dazzling facade of the Yosemite National Park has hidden behind its cheery greenery, a more dark, dangerous reality?

Legends and lore about the Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park, celebrated for its breathtaking granite cliffs and cascading waterfalls, harbors a darker, less visible side beneath its stunning vistas. The park’s name itself, Yosemite, was originally a term meaning "they are killers," given by settlers who misunderstood the native Awanichi people, hinting at a violent history. This wilderness is steeped in chilling legends, including curses and ghost stories that have persisted for centuries, casting a shadow over the park’s natural beauty.
