Netflix in the United States is set to launch a sci-fi mystery series, Extant, starring the acclaimed Halle Berry. Both seasons of this ambitious show, which originally aired on CBS, will be available for streaming from August 18, 2025, for a limited engagement. Created by Mickey Fisher and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, the series represents a bold storyline in the science fiction genre, with 26 episodes making sure you choose screen over popcorn before its conclusion.
Halle Berry's prominent role was a significant draw for Extant, which follows astronaut Molly Woods. Her life takes an unexpected turn after a 13-month solitary mission in the Seraphim space station when she returns home to a mysterious pregnancy. This marks Extant's debut on Netflix, where it will be available alongside its existing home on Paramount+.
