The Decorator, a drama series based on a short story by Cody Behan (known for Tyrant), was acquired by Netflix after a cut-throat contest with eleven bidders, as per Deadline. Currently in development, Behan is scripting and executive producing the adaptation, alongside fellow producer Stacey Sher, who famously produced classics like Erin Brockovich and Django Unchained.
The show is a psycho-s****l drama set in the competitive world of upscale interior design in Los Angeles. There is no further information available on the specifics of the plot as of now.

In January, Behan's short story was one of several highly anticipated packages/specs to hit the TV market. According to sources, the story received a lot of interest. After a protracted process, the deal was signed with Netflix, which has committed to a 20-week writers room.
The story seems to be promising, and the interest in the story also gives rise to curiosity about the people at the helm of the project - Cody Behan and Stacey Sher.
A little about Cody Behan and Stacey Sher’s projects
Cody Behan's script The Diamond as Big as the Ritz, based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's short story, is now being produced by David E. Kelley as a series. Behan previously wrote for David Weil's Prime Video series Solos and co-authored the story for Weil's upcoming Amazon MGM Studios thriller Tyrant.
He also turned his short story Saltwater Cowboys into a feature film for Amazon Studios, which was produced by Gore Verbinski and starred Miles Teller. He is currently working on a television series with Darren Aronofsky's Protozoa and Keri Putnam's Putnam Pictures.
Stacey Sher, on the other hand, has a first-look TV contract with 20th Television/FX Productions. She was also the executive producer of the 2020 FX limited television series Mrs. America. Sher most recently produced the A24 thriller Heretic, starring Hugh Grant, and Chris Pine's directorial debut, Poolman.

Netflix’s hard-earned series adaptation seems safe in the capable hands of Cody Behan and Stacey Sher. Their slew of projects gives one confidence in what they can do with the story at their disposal.
Netflix’s deep interest in the story only strengthens the argument about literary adaptations being Academy favorites. Now, it remains to be seen whether this particular series turns out to prove this theory right or not.
