Netflix has shifted into a phase where its biggest projects are built with deliberate, high-caliber creative partnerships at every level, from script to score. The streamer that once disrupted distribution is now curating legacy. It is assembling auteurs, literary heavyweights, and architects of atmosphere with surgical precision, moving onto its next major adaptation, All the Sinners Bleed.

Scouring high and low for a score that understands the language of faith, trauma, and reckoning, Hans Zimmer has shone bright as ever in Netflix's eyes.

For the streaming giant, there is only one name that consistently answers that call of quality it assures its audience, one that not only holds an Oscar, but has footsteps all over Hollywood's best movers.

Hans Zimmer and the expanding sonic universe of Netflix

Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer is set to create the score for All the Sinners Bleed. Netflix, Higher Ground Productions, and Amblin Television announced that Hans Zimmer and his composer collective, Bleeding Fingers Music, will score the new series adaptation of S. A. Cosby’s propulsive thriller novel of the same name. Zimmer himself framed the tonal ambition succinctly.

All the Sinners Bleed lives in the tension between faith, violence and redemption, the kind of moral complexity where music speaks most powerfully... We’re proud to collaborate with Netflix, Higher Ground and Amblin on a series unafraid to sit with discomfort and truth," Zimmer said in an official press release by Netflix.

Zimmer’s relationship with Netflix is neither incidental nor recent. From crafting the regal main title theme for The Crown to reimagining the platform’s iconic 'ta-dum’ into a theatrical overture ahead of its cinematic push back in 2020, he has helped define the streamer’s sonic identity. Given his blockbuster résumé, spanning Inception, Interstellar, Man of Steel, Dunkirk, among many more, Zimmer was uniquely positioned to retain the logo’s DNA while expanding its scale.

Despite Being Put In a Tight Spot, Hans Zimmer Picks This Comic Book Classic as His Favorite Movie Score

If this series is set to define part of Netflix’s 2026 slate, what can viewers expect? Perhaps a haunting score, uneasy silences, and a story that feels like a slow-burning reckoning.

Inside All the Sinners Bleed: Faith, power, and a community under siege

All the Sinners Bleed centers on a newly elected sheriff, the first Black lawman in his rural Southern county, who is navigating both public scrutiny and private grief. Still marked by the death of his devout mother, he finds himself leading an investigation into a serial killer who has been targeting members of the local Black community while cloaking violence in religious rhetoric. The cast, in fact, equally signals the scale of the ambition.

The series' regulars include Sope Dirisu, John Douglas Thompson, Nicole Beharie, Daniel Ezra, Andrea Cortés, Murray Bartlett, and Leila George.

The recurring roster deepens the dramatic bench with Giancarlo Esposito, David Lyons, Donald Elise Watkins, Mackenzie Astin, Jordan M. Cox, Cullen Moss, Angus O’Brien, Cranston Johnson, Christopher Matthew Cook, Christopher Thornton, and Bill Oberst Jr.

Joe Robert Cole, known for his work on Black Panther, All Day and a Night, and The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story, is adapting the novel for the screen. He will serve as showrunner and executive producer, while also directing the first wave of episodes. Executive producers include Higher Ground Productions, Amblin Television, and author S. A. Cosby.

The project joins a strong lineage of literary adaptations at Netflix, from Bridgerton and YOU to 3 Body Problem, Ripley, Leave the World Behind, and The Queen's GambitAll the Sinners Bleed arrives positioned within that tradition. With Zimmer’s score poised to underscore this meditation on faith and violence, the series is a statement of tonal intent.
