Netflix has officially closed the book on Strip Law, with the show's creator confirming that the raunchy animated comedy will not return for a second season. The cancellation places Strip Law among a growing list of Netflix casualties this year as the streamer continues an aggressive wave of cuts. More than 10 original series have already been axed, with canceled titles ranging from critical favorites like The Vince Staples Show and Terminator Zero to ambitious, high-profile projects such as The Abandons.

Those hoping for another round of animated mischief are out of luck. Strip Law has finished its case and will no longer deliver its distinctly raunchy brand of storytelling.

Series creator Cullen Crawford broke the news himself on Bluesky, confirming that Strip Law will not return for another season on Netflix. Rather than expressing frustration, Crawford struck a thankful tone while reflecting on the fun project.  He also praised the talented artists, writers, and collaborators who helped bring the animated comedy to life.

"Thank you to everyone who gave it chance," Crawford wrote while addressing fans directly. The creator said he could be nothing but grateful for the experience, emphasizing how proud he was of the finished series. His message quickly became a farewell note to viewers who had embraced the show's absurd humor and unpredictable energy.

The cancellation comes after Strip Law entered development with an intentionally wild spin on the legal procedural formula. Expectations grew further when Netflix unveiled first-look images and a trailer showcasing a voice cast led by Joel McHale and Ikechukwu Ufomadu. The preview promised a barrage of rapid-fire jokes, courtroom chaos, and animated mayhem unlike anything else on the platform.

The jury, however, seems to have reached its decision, especially considering the viewership, a factor that Netflix has come to prioritize. Strip Law never appeared in Netflix's daily or weekly Top 10 rankings, making its audience footprint difficult to measure. The clearest public indicator may be the trailer itself, which has accumulated only a little over 100,000 views, hardly the stuff of television triumph.

As fans process the news, Netflix still offers plenty of Strip Law-adjacent chaos to explore, with the upcoming show Dang! set to expand that lineup even further.

Netflix titles that are similar to Strip Law

With Strip Law officially joining Netflix's growing list of canceled originals, fans looking to replace its particular brand of animated anarchy still have several worthy options. Big Mouth delivers the same fearless commitment to outrageous adult humor, while Space Force thrives on workplace dysfunction and the comedy of competent people being surrounded by utter chaos. Both capture different pieces of the offbeat energy that made Strip Law stand out.

Those seeking legal intrigue can trade animated absurdity for the polished maneuvering of Suits, while Adam Scott devotees would do well to visit Party Down, where frustration is practically an art form. For something darker and sharper, BoJack Horseman remains the benchmark for adult animation. If Strip Law leaves behind an empty chair in the courtroom, these series ensure the laughter does not adjourn with it.
